30 Litre Tripod Drinker on Legs.
30 Litre Tripod Drinker on Legs.
The Gaun Eton 30 litre Plastic Tripod Drinker, with blue tripod stand and white tank (30 litres is approx 6.5 gallons) for large flocks of 20+ birds.
Tripod Drinkers are great for larger flocks of poultry & game birds as the drinking saucer always stays filled from the tank above.
This easy to fill 30 litre drinker has a raised drinking saucer, which means there is less chance of contamination from the birds, therefore the drinking water will stay fresh.
The dome shape of the tank also means the birds can't perch on it and contaminate the water from above.
The outlet tube has a sliding valve that opens and closes the water outlet, this makes it a simple task when filling the tank. Some self assembly required.
PLEASE CONSIDER THE DIMENSIONS BEFORE PURCHASE
Dimensions: 36cm dia. x 76cm high (14in x 30in H)
How it works: Slide the blue ring down the outlet tube to cover the outlet hole; fill the tank from the top, screw the top cap back on tightly enough for the tank to be airtight (but not so tight it damages the cap or tank).
Raise the blue ring to allow the water to come out of the hole; once the water level in the saucer covers the hole, the water will stop flowing and a vacuum is created in the tank.
As the hens drink the water it will be replenished in the saucer. if you find the water overflows then it is usually because the tank is not airtight.
This can be solved by checking the screw cap and perhaps smearing some vaseline inside the cap seal (sometimes this is needed with new tanks until they 'bed in').
